With the date for the EU’s battery passport regulations fast approaching and already impacting many stakeholders, what do you need to know to ensure your battery is compliant?   The ESG Working Group Part One will look at what the full requirements are coming into force in 2027 and ESG best practice for batteries going forward, focusing on the supply chain side and understanding the traceability of battery components, as well as ethical considerations in the supply chain.     The session will begin with a scene-setting panel of experts, and then delegates will be encouraged to break out into roundtables to continue the conversation with panel members in an interactive format.   Key questions include: How can we make a battery less impactful on the environment? What are the unknown recycling issues which the industry will face in 10 years’ time and how can we plan for this? What changes will need to be made when the EU Battery Passport regulation comes into force?

The second part of the ESG Working Group will focus on operational ESG methodology and carbon capture.   Key question: How can the industry collaborate on a carbon avoidance methodology across the board which will reduce the impact of operational batteries?   Again this session will start with experts sharing their view followed by a chance for delegates interested in how ESG implications will impact their business or their projects to break out and spend time with sustainability experts.
