Peter Duffy graduated from University College Dublin (engineering) and Fordham University, New York (MBA). He worked in ESB for 19 years in power stations, and later in corporate training, regulation and commercial. After forming Enercomm International consultancy he worked on energy assignments in Ireland, Israel, Croatia, Russia, Serbia and Kosovo, advising the new Government there.
In recent years he has been involved in supporting power plant projects in Ireland with emphasis on flexibility and system services to facilitate greater levels of wind (and later solar PV) on the grid. He is passionate about harnessing renewable energy and combatting climate change, with energy storage playing a significant role.
For the past 2 years he is President of the Irish Energy Storage Association (IESA), and is a regular speaker at energy conferences in Europe, China and elsewhere. He is a member of Al Gore’s Climate Reality global team having attended one of his programmes in New Delhi.
