Vibhu Kaushik

Vibhu is a clean energy and electrification industry executive leader currently working as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Utilities and Energy Storage with Prologis, a global leader in the logistics real estate industry.

Prior to joining Prologis, he had over 16 years of experience working for electric utilities in the US and Canada. He worked at Southern California Edison for 11 years where he held several leadership roles across energy procurement, power generation, asset management, grid technology & modernization, and transmission & distribution strategy, and inspections divisions. Before joining SCE in 2011, Vibhu started his utility career at Manitoba Hydro in Canada where he held several technical and leadership roles across power supply and transmission system operations from 2006-2011.
Vibhu originated SCE’s hybrid (battery + gas) enhanced gas turbines projects which won EEI’s Edison award, ESNA Innovation Award, PowerGen project of the year, and SCAQMD clean air technology award for 2017. He was recognized by the Public Utilities Fortnightly magazine with the “Top Forty Innovators” award in 2017. He led SCE’s Tier I, Gold prize-winning submission in 2019 to US Dept. of Energy’s Inaugural Electricity Industry Technology and Practices Innovation Challenge. The challenge tapped into American ingenuity for ideas on how to make the nation’s electric grid stronger and more resilient. At Manitoba Hydro, he led power generation optimization functions and participation in Midcontinent ISO (MISO) day-ahead and real-time markets. He also represented Manitoba Hydro at MISO’s contingency reserves sharing group committee.

Vibhu earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India, and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Manitoba, Canada, and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles – Anderson School of Management. He is also a registered professional engineer.
