Dr. Changjiang Zhan

Dr. Changjiang Zhan is working with NR electric Co. Ltd., as a deputy chief engineer. Dr. Zhan is an IET member, UK Charted Engineer (CEng), and a member of CIGRE & IEEE. He is the convenor of CIGRE B4.101 “Industrial Implementation and Application of Grid Forming Energy Storage Systems (GFM ESS)”.

He worked in European academia and industry for 20 years, including four years Postdoctoral in the University of Manchester, specialty in Wind Energy and Power Quality; in Siemens at Erlangen for 8 years and Alstom at Stafford/Rugby for 8 years, all focused on the system/basic design and technical project management of HVDC & FACTS projects. His current engineering interests include the power electronic converters/systems, stability and power quality of power- electronic-based power systems, HVDC, FACTS incl. BESS, and Grid-forming technology.
