James Taggart

James is the Head of Corporate Development at Eelpower Energy, where he leads the company’s investment activities. Since joining in 2025, he has been driving Eelpower’s goal to acquire and construct 1 GW of BESS assets across the UK, following a major fundraising round backed by Equitix, Aware Super, and the UK National Wealth Fund.

With extensive experience across the renewable energy value chain, James has worked on projects spanning BESS, solar PV, and onshore wind in the UK, Italy, Poland, and Spain. Prior to Eelpower, he held roles at Cero Generation, Glennmont Partners (now Nuveen), and Foresight Group.

James holds an MBA from Warwick Business School and is a Chartered Accountant (ICAS).
