Louise Alter

Louise Alter, Sustainability Director for nLighten.

Louise is passionate about innovation and tackling climate change, with a career spanning Europe and the Middle East. For the past seven years in the UK, she has focused on decarbonisation at multiple scales, taking a whole-system approach.

At nLighten, she oversees the energy supply and grid connections for the company’s data centres, integrating them into local energy systems to deliver heat recovery, support grid stability, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Previously, as Head of Energy Innovation for Equans UK & Ireland, Louise led the development of innovative decarbonisation projects, particularly for local authority customers across the UK. She holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London and an engineering degree from ETH Zurich.
