
Salvatore De Carlo
Salvatore De Carlo is the head of System Strategy and Positioning at Terna, the Italian TSO. In his current role, he is in charge of defining Terna’s strategic positioning and ensuring a long-term vision for the Italian power system. He is also involved in the design of the MACSE, the storage procurement mechanism which will boost the development of several GWhs of energy storage capacity within the Italian electricity system.
In his previous work experience as Senior Consultant for AFRY, Salvatore was responsible for modelling the Irish Electricity market and directing several projects at EU level, focusing on wholesale electricity price projections, power plant revenues and capacity payment mechanisms, in order to support the decisions of companies and government bodies operating in the energy sector
