David is responsible for Critical Minerals, Energy Transition and Space and supports enquiries regarding investment into Western Australia for critical minerals, including battery minerals and rare earths, and enquiries across renewables including solar, wind and hydrogen, as well as decommissioning of oil and gas infrastructure and CCS / CCUS.
Prior to joining the WAGO team at Australia House in London at the beginning of May 2022, David was Senior Investment Manager at Austrade in the same building from 2017-2019, covering Advanced Manufacturing, Defence and Space as well as Critical Minerals and Inward Investment Manager at the British Consulate-General in Sao Paulo, Brazil from 2008-2012. He also spent 8 years in Brazil as a Safety, Health and Environmental management systems auditor, consultant, and trainer, serving customers mainly in the mining sector.
In the UK, David has also led Inward Investment for two Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPS) in Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire as well as managed the District Council’s Economic Development team in Maldon, Essex and served as Economic Development Advisor to the Innovation Core, a group of five local authorities that form the central portion of the UK Innovation Corridor that links London with Cambridge.
David studied International Relations at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa and holds an MBA in International Business from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.
