Kevin Shang

Kevin Shang is a principal research analyst in Wood Mackenzie’s Global Energy Storage team, focused on the energy storage supply chain and technology. Before that, he led Wood Mackenzie’s cathode and precursor materials market research.

Kevin joined Wood Mackenzie in 2021 following the takeover of Roskill. While at Roskill, he was responsible for research and analysis on cathode materials, battery technology and the lithium-ion battery supply chain.

Kevin is a regular speaker at international conferences on battery technology and supply chains. He sits on the advisory board of the Battery Show North America. His research and analysis on battery and energy storage industry is frequently featured in multiple press outlets, including Financial Times.

Before joining Roskill, Kevin worked at the BBC and Reuters TV, reporting on China-related matters and energy markets for the broadcaster’s international audience in both Chinese and English.
