Sebastian Porter
With a background in engineering from the University of Bath, Sebastian initially worked in Norway as a semiconductor engineer for several years, before doing a master’s course in energy and sustainability at Bocconi University in Milan. Sebastian then joined Granular Energy as one of the earliest employees, working on strategic projects including the development of Granular’s green energy allocation engine, and several innovation projects with some of the world’s largest energy suppliers and battery operators exploring the monetisation of battery carbon savings. Most recently, Sebastian helped develop the technical criteria for RE100’s new 24/7 carbon-free energy initiative, and contributed to the development of the world’s first guidelines for storage to participate in 24/7 carbon-free energy schemes, through his involvement with the nonprofit EnergyTag’s storage working group.
