John O’Toole

John has over 20 years of energy industry experience, is a Chartered Engineer and also achieved an MBA. Early career : after 7 years of managing a 15 MWe CHP plant at the Guinness Brewery in Dublin, John moved to the Irish utility ESB covering various technical and trading operations roles in a 400 MW CCGT gas fired power station. Upon moving to the UK in 2012, John initially managed RWE's 1 GW of UK wind from their control centre in Swindon, before transitioning into solar project development and asset management. From 2016 to 2022, John was Technical Director at Gresham House, managing the UK's largest operational battery fleet (425 MW in operation plus 400+ MW in construction during that time).
