Mark Futyan is a portfolio Chair, Non-Executive Director (NED) and Advisor specialising in renewable power and battery energy storage. He currently serves as Chair of Arenko, EBRD Nominee Director at Croatian energy storage platform NextGrid Energy, NED at Coalburn 1, one of Europe’s largest operational battery energy storage projects, and Senior Advisor to investment manager AlphaReal.

Mark was previously CEO of Anesco, where he oversaw the development and construction of more than 500MW of solar PV and energy storage projects. Before joining Anesco, he held senior executive roles at Centrica, including responsibility for its international power generation and energy storage portfolio.

His experience spans the investment, development, commercialisation and operation of energy infrastructure, bringing a broad perspective on the opportunities, risks and investment considerations shaping the BESS market.

Mark is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institute of Directors. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
